AMC New Hampshire Chapter - Leader Requirements
|
 |
These are the requirements that our Leaders have to fulfill to be granted the title of "Trip Leader".
These requirements are designed to ensure that NH Chapter Trip Leaders have both the experience and
skill required to take participants on safe and fun trips into the wilds of the region.
As you'll read below, there are 3 different
levels of Trip Leader:
Class 1, 2, & 3.
The kind of trips the Leader wants to lead will dictate what class of leadership he/she will have to attain.
Naturally, the more demanding trips require a leadership class with more demanding requirements. Each has its own
unique requirements, but many cross over from one class to the next.
There are two things common to each leadership class are not as self explanatory as the others.
The "approved AMC-NH Chapter leadership training class" is held 3 times a year as part of our annual
Winter and Spring Hiking Workshops at the AMC's Cardigan Lodge. To learn more about the workshops,
please click here here. The Trip Leader Mentor Program is a series of trips that a Potential Trip Leader
must complete under the guidance of experienced Mentors. To learn more about the Mentor workshops, please click
