Ellen began hiking seriously around 1999 and a few years 
later became a NH AMC Chapter leader. Her favorite peaks
are “all of them” but what she really enjoys is the adventure 
and interaction each hike or climb brings. Distant summits 
and trails include Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Whitney’s East Face 
climbing route, The Grand Tetons, Mt. Hood and Alaska’s 
Chilkoot Trail. Her hikes may be slower-paced but they 
are geared for those who seek to expand their horizons 
and the hiking goals that might be out of reach with 
faster groups.
