NHAMC Paddlers

The NHAMC Paddlers is filled with people who know how to have fun on and off the river. Like other AMC activity committees, the NHAMC paddlers is for outdoor enthusiasts with an interest in paddling as well as a concern for protecting and conserving our waterways. Paddling trips for all skill levels and moods are offered nearly every weekend from early March until late October and beyond.  During the long, warm days of Spring and Summer, our Wednesday night quiet water paddles are very popular, especially for first-timers.

Leadership
An experienced leader and co-leader, rated according to AMC standards, guides each trip.

Family Paddling
We have a very active family paddling program with lots of events scheduled. We can provide all the equipment (kids free) for a small rental fee. Check out our galleries of some of the fun family paddles we've had.

Paddling with the NH AMC group, you will always find willing friends to paddle with, weekends and weekdays. In addition to the regularly scheduled trips, "bootleg" trips are often organized overnight when a heavy rain brings up a normally unpaddleable river. An easy, casual attitude permeates all trips, along with a responsible, healthy respect for the river and its potential hazards. Kayaks, tandem, and solo canoes are all welcome.

Meetings

Our meetings are a chance to get together to plan upcoming scheduled trips and boot-leg adventures as well as tell tall tails about past adventures. A long-standing tradition is our pot-luck dinner with wonderful dishes. (It has been said that the NHAMCPaddlers are enthusiastic paddlers with an eating disorder.)

We always have a gear swap were you can get some great gear at very reasonable prices. The door prizes are always fun ... what a wonderful feeling to see someone joyfully walking off clutching a clutching a piece of your unwanted equipment ... priceless!
